THE KNOCKS

RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘BRIGHTSIDE’ ON 28TH NOVEMBER AND ANNOUNCE UK SUPPORT TO DJ SHADOW

The Knocks – Brightside

“Cred-pop’s answer to The Neptunes are kicking the living shit out of the Big Apple’s loft raves right now…they are scientists of swagger” NME

“They don’t write songs so much as anthems, sort of midway between high street and hip, David Guetta and Daft Punk.” The Guardian

“Here is a dangerously brilliant explosion of pop joy that will inspire dancing for many generations to come.” Popjustice

New York DJ & producer duo The Knocks will release their new single ‘Brightside’ on 28th November before playing a host of UK support dates with DJ Shadow in November and December.

Based out of the Lower East Side of Manhattan, The Knocks are Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “Jpatt” Patterson whose unique mix of beats, sounds and styles has earned them a much deserved following of fans and collaborators alike. The NME declared The Knocks to be one of the “20 hottest producers in music” for their versatile production and remix work for the likes of Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Marina & the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, Foster the People, Passion Pit and Little Boots to name a few.

‘Brightside’, which has already reached #1 on the Hype Machine Most Popular chart, is an uptempo chilled feel-good anthem with smooth vocals that leads into an infectious chorus with a catchy electro beat throughout. It has the much-loved signature Knocks sound and has ‘hit’ written all over it.  Remixes come courtesy of Fred Falke, The Sound of Arrows, Lenno, Jaybird and TheFatRat.

The Knocks are currently working on their debut record which will be released in 2012 with a taster of the album coming in February with the release of a new EP following the success of indie single ‘Make it Better’ and their recent release ‘Dancing With the DJ’.

After touring recently with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Sleigh Bells, MIA and Big Boi, they have just been announced as support to longtime musical hero DJ Shadow on his UK dates in November and December. Little Boots New Single – SHAKE

…announces new single SHAKE released on limited edition vinyl and digital download on 14th November 2011

I love the statement shake ’till your heart breaks: it’s
that violent kind of romance that runs through some of my favourite songs.

Little Boots – Shake

Little Boots will release her new single ‘Shake’ on 14th November – the first
track from her forthcoming second album, out next year. Boots arrived in 2009
as one of the most talked about breakthrough popstars in the world, erupting
from the pulsing depths of clubland with the electro-pop classic ‘Stuck On Repeat’,
going onto achieve big international success, world tours and her debut Top 5
album ‘Hands’. She remains one of the UK’s most important crossover dance-pop
artists.

‘Shake’ is a monstrous modern disco epic. As powerful as it is enigmatic, the cavalcade of pounding kick drums and swirling analog synth tension turbo charge her return with an uncompromising energy. It’s tightly woven with those unmistakable
hooklines and bewitching melodies that first catapulted Victoria Hesketh
into the spotlight, reminding us exactly what we’ve been missing. It was
constructed in one afternoon after a spontaneous liaison with Super-Producer, James Ford. “The song came in the latter stages of writing the new album,”
Boots explains. “James and I had been emailing, and unusually both had
a free day. It was one of those that just came out. Immediately it felt right.
It also shed a new light on a lot of the other songs I’d been working on for
the album
.”

With no need for fanfare, ‘Shake’ is released on limited edition collector’s vinyl and digital download, a grassroots return for a true DIY superstar. True to form, it has
been remixed by some of Boots’ favourite dance dons-of-the-moment, Azari
& III
and Crazy P.

To commemorate the release, the also acclaimed disc-spinner is about to embark on worldwide DJ tour, taking in destinations including New York, LA, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Beijing, before a huge ribbon-cutting warehouse blow-out in
London featuring some of her DJ friends including ‘Shake’ co-creator James
Ford
, one of its remixers Crazy P, and notorious disco trouble makers Horse Meat Disco, Kris Di Angelis as well as various other surprises.
